My name is Jacquie Pollard and I teach yoga in the Leeds and Bradford areas of West Yorkshire. My yoga philosophy is that it should feel easy, comfortable and relaxing, ie pain and injury free. I am testimony to this because I have practised yoga for 30 years without injury.

My Background in Yoga

I started teaching yoga for Leeds City Council in 2003. I gained my hatha yoga teaching diploma with the British Wheel of Yoga (the main governing body for yoga in the UK) in 2007. I completed training as a yoga sports coach in 2011 with Yoga Sports Science. During my training, as well as having the privilege to be trained by Hayley Winter, the founder, I also had the opportunity to work with 2 Olympic sports coaches (further details from yogasportscience.com) and elite athletes. My case study involved working with an amateur golfer for 10 weeks, with a view to helping her improve core stability, which was successful (see above quotes). Since then I have worked for 4 weeks with an amateur triathlete to try to loosen up tight hamstrings; improve hip flexibility and ease lower back problems.
